[Bx Telkgbaph.] [FBOM OUB OWN 00BBESPONDKNT.] Wellington, June 20. Notice was given to-day to ask the Government if they purpose making fresh appointments to the Upper House this session, and I have it on the very best authority that whatever may be done in the way of appoint- j menta the names which have bean mentioned will be " out of it." Enquiries have, I gather, been made by the member for Nelson as to the Police Station building, and also as to the completion of work at the Government wharf, and I gather that something is to be done, but have been unable to ascertain what The weather being fine to-day, there was a great concourse of people to witness the opening of Parliament. Only an hour and a half was ecoupied altogether. The report that the House would meet and then adjourn till the arrival of the Treasurer U all nonsense. Business will go on without interruption oh that score. A sufficient number of Bills have already been given notice of by the Government to give fully three montbb' work, I should say, while the not oes of motion questions, etc., already indicated convey the idea that members ate in fighting humor. The Addreß3-in-Beply will ba moved by Mr Pirani, and seconded by My Maslin.
