Revival in Mining.
Thames, May 28 . Tbe revival iv mining through the Hauraki district continues, and never in the history of these goldfields has industry been on suoh a satisfactory basi j . In numerous instances lodes of large dimensions, whioh were some years ago looked upon ns valueless, bave now been found to be highly remunerative, thankß to the introduotion and gr dual adoption of the oyanide process. As a result of tbis, and sp'endid returns now being obtained from Waihi, Karang ibake Thames and Coromandel, there is quite a boom on, nnd the oountry has been pegged ou . ii all directions. Tbe results obtained at the Thames from the deep level carried dn ty the May Queen Company areraally handsome. To day 60 pounds of nice specimen etone was eeoured, and the return for the present month will be about 700 ozs pold, while next month will see even this nearly doubled. Everythng thus points to the existenoa of gold at a greater depth than that alrealy obtained at the Thames. May Queen bhares, which, a month ago, Btood at 4/9; are now selling freely at 10/-.
