FOOTBALL.
PBINCE ALBERTS V. ALBIONS. A match was played at Trafalgar Park oq Saturday between teams representing the Albert and Albion Clubs. Like all soratch games this one fell flat from the commencement owing to the lateness of the Gtart, and the oomposition of the teams. The Alberts had much the better team, being fairly representative of the strength of the Club, but the Albions were short banded, very few seniors being amongst those^who turned oat. This does not augur well for tha Club's future prospeots, as hardly any of tbe cap team have bad a game. Although tbe game could not be called very interesting, there was still some sensible passing indulged in occasionally, besides some good forward rushes. In reipeot to the latter both sides could olaim to be fairly equal, but tbe Albions rushes were much better devised than their opponents, and were not of suob an individual character. In the first portion of the game the Alberts put en a couple of scores, one of which Frank obtained aftar a spiritsd forward rush, while D. Batnett alto soored in tho corner, ably assisted by H. Barnett, being tbe outcome of some good following up. Hall contributed a goal from Frank's try, bat the la'.ter was unable to improve Barnett's. This spall ended in tbe Alberts having tight points to their opponents nil. The Albions, however, bad two chances to score, but were unable to take advantage of them. Miller in the eeoond spell registered a well deserved score by a iplendid piece of following up by himself and Dae. The try was not improved upon. Towards the end of the gam* the Alberts adopted more open tactics, Hall, Hant, and N«sbitt passing with more or less success, and the Albert skipper as the result of a neat pass from Hunt scored fairly easily. In putting the ball finely through the posts he brought the total score as follows : — Alberts, 13 ; Albions, 3. This was also the stats of the game at tbe finish. The losing aids played well considering its team, and prevented more scoring by their opponents by pluoky collaring, and for the Alberts, Neabitt, Hal', and Hunt (baok), and Penny, Frank, Hogg and Nalder (forwards) were prominent, wkile amongst the Albion?, Dee, Miller, McDonald (back), and J. Nesbitt. Cooper, Preßhaw and Glover (forwards) played .capitally. Mr S. Levien's refareeiag gave ! the utmost satisfaction. 1 On Saturday nest the Albions and Nelson senior and junior cup teams will meet to > fulfil their respective eagagemants.
