N S.W. POLITICS.

Sydney, May 10. At a caucus meeting of the Opposition a proposal for a direct motion of censure by the Opposition was negatived, and it was resolved to BUpport Sir h enry Parkes in an attaok on the Govern aent policy. The meeting adjourned pending negotiations. It is understood that Sir Henry Parkes will submit a motion to the effect that the condition of the fieances and the near approach of Federation do not justify a change io policy till dealt with by the Federal Parliament. In the Legislative Assembly the Premier denied that the Governorship was being hawked about among hangers-on to the Imperial Treasury. The Imperial Government, he said, was fully alive to the importance of the appointment, and were endeavoring to select a man who w.ould give satisfaction toth to the Colony and Great Britain.
