Christchurch Hospital
Chbibtchuech, April 13
A deputation of 44 persons, abaut h ilf of whom were ladies, waited on the Hon. M.r Beeves to ask what oonld be done towards obtaining a thorough enquiry into the management of tbe Christchuroh Hospital. The bodies represented were tbe Women's Political Assooiation, the Canterbury and Balance Liberal Assooiation, the Workers' Union, and the looal branch of tbe Bailway Servants' Sooiety. Mr Beeves, in a long speech, explained that thera had been a misconception on the part of the Bosrd and the publio bs to the late enquiry, atid he ehowed that the Government had no' hing to do with the matter, whioh was entirely in the hands of tbe Board. They muet go to the Board, be Baid, for an enquiry, and if it were refused they oould tben get a Boyal Commiesion.
