Vice-Pbesidjsnts : Messrs J. H Harkneaa. A. J Glasgow, G, A Macqaarie, A. Tregea, L. Adams, and W.. B Walker. Committee: Messrs T. A Askew, J. B Barltrop, G. Bout, J. Low, A. 0 Moore, W. N Poo!e, E. Woodward, and E. Martin. Treastjbbb: Mr James Boon. Secretary: Mr Charles A, Seymour. The Committee of the Association, and, indeed!, all who have contributed to the result, are to be oongratolated on the very excellent show of birds that waa opened in the Princefla Bink on July 20th. In poiot of number, the entries thia year far exceed tfaoae at any former Show held in Nelson. Moat of the more useful varieties of fowl are well represented, euoh as Minoroas, Lsghorna and Andalnsiana, bat as a whtfe the birds are somewhat wanting in condition. Tbis nay oertainly be said of the Leghorns, but the Andaltuianß are a very good olasa. The Games are decidedly of good quality, Mr Tregea 1 * blaok red game hen olaiming speoial notice, as also does the yellow legged pile flame hen. One pile game bird shown by Mr W. Poole is one of the most moJern shaped birda ever Been in Nelson, but the Judge bad, very reluctantly, to paaa it over on account of its breast being too muoh marbled. Mr Bowman's plymouth rook hen is a splendid bird, and was -awarded the speoial prize for the best in the Show. As regards oockerela of the same class, there waa a very oloae competition. The dorkings were a great improvement on those Bhown last year, and the brahmas, though no* numerous, were very fair specimens of the breed The wyanaottes are a fair class, but nothing very special, and the hamburga show a want of sew blood, for they are running small. As a class, the bantams are very good, the blaok red games shown by Mr H. J. Kenny of Wellington olaiming special notice. The pekin ducka are very good, especially those awarded the first prize. These Bre shown by Mr Jacka, and display a nioe canary co'or in the plumage: Mr Jaoka also sbowa a very nioe pair of muscovy docks. The pigeons are a very good olass, and on the, whole a decided improvement -on those exhibited last year. Mr Macquarie makes a magnificent show, and exhibits good apeoimenß of the varietiea he has entered. Mr Redpsth showa a very nice owl oook, and Mr J. T. Fitzgerald of Wellington has a fine red chequered Antwerp. Of canaries, there is a good collection, and the pets, thought not nnmerons, are interesting. The pigeon flying match ia to take place to-day. Last evening there was a large attendance at the Rink building, and we antioipate that there will be a atill greater Dumber of 'ifitora to-day, and again tomorrow. It has been suggested that if visitors were to follow the rnla of turning to the left, and^would not block the pasaages near the Band stand, the inoonvenienoe attendant upon a large gathering would be materially lessened, and the role aa to " no smoking " should be atriotly enforced- Mr Daore, who acted aa Judge of the poultry, only arrived from the South yesterday morning, and he certainly bad a very arduous day'a work. Mr Moller performed the dutiea of Judge of canaries and pets with the oare that is essential. The following is the PBIZB LIST:— Poultry. (Judge— Mr F. W, Dacre.)
