[Feom a special coeeespondent] Briefly pat, the proposals of the Midland Company are : — (1.) To finish the line to the Motueka Valley, and then to sell the same to the Government for one hundred thousand pounds, abandoning thereafter that portion of the line beWeen the Motuelsa Valley ana Reeftoa,
(2.) The further proposal is to oompletethe line between Teremakau and Springfield, ami in lieu of land grants to give them eiglr hundred and fifty thousand pounds withir ten years, and in twenty half-yearly pay. ments. The proposal as regards the purchase oi the Belgrove section is now before the Bailway Commissioners, and the proposal witb reference to the eight hundred and fifty thousand pounds is under the consideration of finanoial experts. Later on it is the intention of the Government to lay the papers on the table of the House, and then refer them to the Public Accounts Committee:
