[TJNITID PBBBS ASSOCIATION.] ' : MELBOURNE, July 11. At the winter meeting of the V.R.G the weather was fine, and there was a large attendance. The Grand National Steeplechase resulted as follows :— Trojan, (Edge) 1 ; Shylock, (Brewer) 2 ; Basace, (Williams; 3. Fifteen horses started, and the betting was— 7to 2 Shylook, 4to 1 Trojan. From a good start Albeit and Trojan headed the field and maintained their advantage for a greater part of the journey, but Albert, while full of running, fell at the last fence, allowing Trojan to win easily by four lengths ; time 7 mins. 4* seos. Ouidacamea cropper and was killed.
