LOYAL HOWARD LODGE I. O. O. F.

The half-yearly financial summoned meeting of the Loyal Howard Lodge was held at the Lodge room on Wednesday, January 4, when there was a large attendance. From tbe auditors' report and balanoe sheet, there appears to bave been an exoessivo amount of sickness experienced during the half-year, the payment on that acoount amounting to £304 15s 10d, or a total for the -year of £525 2b Id. Notwithstanding the heavy drain for siokneas, the Sick Fund now has the vary handsome credit of £5616 9a. The Management Fund shows a oredit balance of £29 13 4d, after paying £160 on acoount of tbis Lodge'a share of the oost of building tbe new Lodge room. A very animated discussion took plaoe in reference to the appointment of Lodge Surgeon, and after the various questions in dispute were considered, the Lodge deoided unanimously to re-elect their preßent Surgeon Dr Hudson for the ensuing cix months, the Medical Union Oommittee in the meantime to endeavor to settle the matters in dispute with the Surgeon. The number of members on the roll now stands at 247, being an increase of 10 for the halfyear. The Permanent Secretary, Bro A, N. Batchelor, and the Treasurer, Bro H. V. Gully were re-eleotedi The following Brothers were eleoted to attend the coming Distriot Meeting : — PPGM'b, Broa A. N Batchelor, H. V Gully, A. R Smart, W. Moyes, and PG Bro J. Low. The officers for the ensuing term were duly installed by PGM Bro G. F Smallbone— GM, Bro A. B Giblin ; NG, Bro W. E Fleming ; VG, Bro J. Sharp ; ES, Bro E. S Percival.
