THE SALVATION ARMY.

There were speoial'meetings held in connection with the local branch of Salvationists during Sunday last, when Adjutant and Mrs Cutler, who have the oversight of Salvation Army operations on this coast, were present to conduct the services. > „There. v were also visiting officers from" the,'suwpuncl--ig''district ahd the West Coast, and tHe whole' day was one of lively enthusiasm and success;! Adjutant and Mrs Cutler, and some other .visiting, officers. The brass band did lively ; service in the streets during the day, and much appreciation was shown. Yesterday's festivities inoluded a tea and lecture on the "Darkest England scheme and its developments,?' and for to-day and the rest of the week special meetings will beheld. ■" ""' ' ; "
