Mr Tyree has recently introduced some new processes in photographic printing, one of them being a method of his own perfecting, and which he calls the Tyreetype. Some of the portraits inferred to are printed according to tho Kallitype process, these are iron prints developed on silver, and the pictures, which are of a black tone, ] are in appearance like fine chalk lithographs, i Other prints are produced by what is known as the lYorytype, the sensatizing agent being bromide of silver, on artificial ivory, the effect j being that of a metzotint engraving on ivory, j Other pictures are what are known as gela. tino-chloride prints on paper. They are greyish in tone, and somewhat resemble the Platinotype. The most effective of tho pio tures, however, were those produced by Mr Tyree's own process, and to be known as Tyreetypes. These photographs are printed on a maU surface, and they present all the characteristics of fine engravings, with a soft- 1 ness not attainable by any of the other processeg. The gradation of he tones in reinaikable, and these works of art are certain to command admiration. In the posing of the children whose pictures we are particularly alluding to, Mr Tyree has been very happy, and these photographs are, as we have advisedly said, real pictures-— Colonist, Oth, 1891.
