IONDON, June 9. In the baccarat case Lord Chief Justice Coleridge summed op generally against Sir William Camming, fie held that if a men were innocent he waa not likely to sign a confession of guilt as Sir William had done. The Chief Justice deprecated the statement of Sir Edward Clarke, Solicitor-General, that plaintiff's name oould not be removed from the Army list unless the names of the Prince of "Wales and General Owen Williams were also erased. The jury were only absent seven minutes, and when the foreman announced that they found a verdict for the defendants there was considerable his _ng in the body of the Court. When the defenr'ants were leaving the Courthouse tl ey were hustled by tha crowd which had eoKected round the entrances. June 10. The ' Times ' referring to the r ._ _lt of the Baccarat oase expresses its profound regret tbat tbe Prince of Wales was concerned in the affair. As the case may have a serioue effect on the publio mind, it is to be r - gretted that the discovery was made that .he set in whioh the Prince of Wales mixes is a gambling set, bu; now that tha discovery bas been made known the • Timeß ' hopes tbat hia Royal Highness will make a reeolve never to touch cards again, aud also determine to eschew questionable pleasures. On the who'e the Press severely C9nsurea tho Prince of Wales, but opinion is evenly divided as to Sir William Cumming's guilt.
