FOOTBALL.
Punbdin, 3rd June. The Rugby Union brought to a olose to-night its investigation into the charges made in connection with the EaikoraiAlhambra match. Resolutions were arrived at to the following effect :— That the newspaper statements that the Kaikorai-Alhambra match was 'sold by certain players are not substantiated. The committee find that betting among players does exist to some extent, but the evidence implicating playing members of clubs does not justly conviction, though it raises grave suspicion. Players and members have not afforded the assistance expectad to the committee, and one player who might have given valuable assistance refused to appear, and was disqualified. The action of three players of the Kaikorai Olub in conaerning themselves in the investment of money for non-players was ill-advised, and Buoh conduot will in future be dealt with as personal betting. Certain evidence laid before the committee can only be met by the following resolution ; —".That the committee considers P. Keogh a professional, and he be suspended during the pleasure of the committee,; that this resolution be remitted to the English Union, and a copy forwarded to the various New Zealand and Australian Unions." ,
