f December 6. ~ Early yestetday morning Parker's secondhand famitnre shop, together, with the Btsofc, in Oxford 4 Terraoe k was destroyed by fire. The adjbiniDs shop, bcoupied by W, Clydesdale, Gonfeotioner, was seriously damaged The fire broke oat in the upper put of Parker's shop, bat- the cause is unknown. Parker's building was owned by O.Clarke. Inßuranoei— Clarke's building, £250 in the Norwich Union ; Parker's etook, £200 in the ; Australian Alliance. Clydesdale's hodse, shop, and factory, £450 in the Union aod Equit* able, and his stock, furniture, and efleots for £300 in the flame office*, part reinsured. A youth sained Alfred Jennett, 18 years of age, wafl drowned in the Avon, near the , New Brighton boat sheds, while bathing today. The body has been reoovered.
