IRISH LAND PURCHASE.

■ Mayl. Replying to the debate on the Irish Land Purohase Bill in the House of Commons, Mr Balfour said in reference to the suggestions
(bat the purohaee of land ba placed under the control of the County Councils, that it would be a rash and dangerous principle to adopt at present, and one most likely to thwart tba purohase. He was not opposed to Mr Parnell'a scheme providing it was made subordinate to the Government plan. On a division being taken, the Bill was read a second time by 803 to 268.
