Samuel Edsn, of Hope, for whom Mr C. Harley appeared, was charged on the information of Constable Ingram with making use of insulting language in a public plaoa. One •f the witnesses described the language used as about the worst he had erer heard, and considering he was a seafaring man.it must have been bad; he would not repeat it in words. The Bench fined Eden £5 and costs 21s. being the maximum penalty. Hooper v. Sigglekow (Blenheim). —Claim for £9 17s Id. Judgment for amount claimed with costs 19s.

Same v. W. King (Kaitona).—Claim for £5 9s 9d. Judgment for amount claimed wita costs 23a,

Same v. Galland.—Olaim £416s lid. De* fendant did sot appear. Judgment by default with costs 6s.

Currin v. Brown <fe Williams.—Claim M Is Od for timber Defendants wrote stating their inability to pay, and asked for time. After considering a contra account, the Benoh gave judgment for £7 17a 6d and costs 19s.

H. Tomlimon v. Aj Daniell.—Claim for £2 5s lit). Defendant paid £1 16g lid into Court. The dispute arose respe«tiog the price of four eases of apiricotf. The Banth, after fully considering tho ease, gave judgment for is in addition to the amount paid into Court, with costs 6s.

A number of other oases were settled out of Court, and some adjourned to nest Court day. '
