CUSTOMS' REVENUE.

Wellington, December 1. The amount of Customs revenue collected in New Zealand during the put month wa* £173,008 4s 3d. The principal contributors were—Dunedin, £54,823 14s sd; Lyttelton and Ohriitchurch, £30,19010 a lid; Wsllington, £30,065 4a lOd; Auckland, £23,923 0s BJ. The estimate for the month was £126,250, but the amouit collected exceeds that by £50,000, principally duo to the heavy clear« aucss in oonsequence of the new legalatiopt as to case spirit^. The amount deceived during the eight months of thegFinancial year is, in round number, £986,948, or £23,152 leas than the estimate. During th« month the sum of £4105 was collected as Beer duty throughout the Colony, the principal amounts being as follows:—Auckland, £895; Dunadin, £892 2a 8d; Christchorch, £791; Wellington, £41412s 4d. The amount was about £100 less than the'estimate. The amount received during the eight months of tha Financial year was £31,105 11s 6d," or £2894 8s 6d below the estimate.
