The following telegraphio correspondence between Mr J. H. Harkness (Nelson), President of the New Zealand Education Institute, and the Hon. Geo. Fisher, Minister for Education, was read at the last meeting of the Council on Friday afternoon: — Mr J. E. Harkness, President N.Z. Ed. Institute, to Hon. Geo. Fishor, Minister for Education. " Besolution passed by Council of Education Institute asking you to receive deputa-. tion on business resolved. Will Monday, before leaving of Southern steamer, suit your convenience." Harkness, Esq. Fres. Ed. Institute. " I did not ask deputation to wait in Wellington till my return.
