■id the men ware taken in a traiatotbicamp. There are plenty of tanks and a good camping ground. The catering is rery unsatisfactory. There are 1992 men in camp, including three troops ol Cavalry, two batteries- of Artillery, and five Bands. The afternoon was employed in manual and bayonet exercise/ battalion drill and ontpost duty. A bayonet excercisecompetition take? place to-morrow between the Nelson College, Wanganui, and Blenheim Cadets. There are three mild caaes of sunstroke, and one Napier man has been injured by being struck by a gun carriage. [Pan Press Association.] The Volunteers for the Easter encampment have been arriving all day. The Goahead with the Blenheim contingent, and the Hinemoa with the Nelson men, arrived this morning ; the Stella arrived this afternoon, with the Greymouth Rifles, Westland Rifles, and the Kumaru Rifles; and the Moa to-night, with the Weitport Rifle3. The Wellington train was delayed, and did not arrive till 3 p.m. The weather is fine, and tho men art in high spirits. The Cadets attended Church in \town this morning, being marched from camp headed by the Taranaki Rifles band. The men have been engaged all day at instruction in outpost duty. The battalion evolutions wero executed with precision. The Wellington men were too late for duty. The Volunteers speak highly of the ground selected as being suitable for all the tactics. >The man will not settle down to work properly till tomorrow, when the sham fight takes place. There are four men in the hospital—Corporal Densnap, of the Napier Rifles, suffering from a fracture of the ribs, 'caused by being crushed when getting out of the train near the encampment; Private Dugjon, of the Wanganui Artillery, suffering^from mild sunstroke; also Private Gibbs, Nelson College Cadets, and Private Strechen, of the Wanganui Rifles, from the same cause; and Private Baker, Napier Rifles, suffering from whitlow. Owing to the foresight of tha medical staff everything deemed necessary for patienti are at hand in camp. While fthe F Battery Napier Artillery were getting two six-pounder guns off the trucks at jthe railway station this morning, an accident happened to Trumpeter Pox. jThe gun carriage tilted over, one of the shafts striking him a heavy blow, causing concussion of tho spine. He was taken to the New Plymouth hospital, but is not dangerously hurt. A large number of the men are on leave in town to-night.
