CANTERBURY MARKETS. The following is the report of the Canterbury Corn Exchange for the week ending Friday, June 19 :— Another'uneventful week in the grain trade has passed. Prime milling wheat, especially the hard sorts, have a fair demand There has also been an active business doing in second qualityand whole fowl feed for shipment, but the holders of orders have not had much difficulty in effecting their requirements. The' trade in oats has been fairly good at quotations, the better grades being most sought after. Barley continues stagnant. The business =to record" is that of second quality malting, several lines of which have gone forward for shipment. Beans and peas have little enquiry, except for Prussian blues, which are readily quitted at prices named. Rye-grass has a fair enquiry for good clean farmers' parcels, while cocksfoot has only a moderate demand. Potatoes are quiet, with little.business transpiring, and it would be very difficult to obtain over the 32s 6d at country stations. The following are the quotations for the week:— Wheat—Prime milling (winter sorts), 2s 9d to 2s 10d; Tuscan, 2s 8d to 2s 9d; second quality, dry and fit. for shipment, 2s 2d to 2s 6d; whole fowls' wheat, Is lOd to 2s, f.o.b. Oats—Milling and bright short feed, Is 9d to Is lOd;. short feed, slightly discolored, Is 7d to_ls.Bd.; lower-grades,-Is 4d-to Is 6d. — Barley—Nominally 3s 6d to 3s 9d for prime malting; 2s 6d to" 3s for second quality; feed, Is 9d to 2s, f.o.b. or Christchurch. Beanflr^s 6d.
