i Per Renter's Agency, LONDON, April 23. Further explosions, supposed to have been caused "by dynamite, occurred at Whitehall {'this ' afternoon. The scene of the outrage was an office under that of the Secretary to the Admiralty, Mr E. N. Swainson. The explosion was of an alarming nature, and Mr Swainson, who was in the office ,at jthe time, sustained severe injuries. Tlie police are actively engaged in tracing the perpetrators. I \ The-semi official ' Journal de-1 St. Petersburg' mi; an article on the Afghan question, to-day expresses the conviction that ,Sir v Peter Lumsden's report to the British Government of the recent fighting was derived from Afghan sources, and further states that the Russian Government place complete reliance on General Kormaoff's report of the proceedings. The article concludes with the hope that peace may still be looked for.
