Present—Commissioners Curtis, Hamilton, Hursthouse, and Chief Commisgioner Greenfield. • : , The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. - Prospecting Licenses.—Kesolved, That the license No. 131,; granted to J. F. Fabian, be transferred to, John Fabian. That license No. 203, Aniseed Valley district, be renewed for three months from '.March Ist, and license No. 221, Wangamoa district, be reViewed for 6 months. That the undermentioned licenses be granted for '.2 months, from Ist April next, viz.: -Application 245, James Newport, ;525 acres, Maungatapu district; 250, George Newport, 640 acres,' Maungatapu district ; 246, Eichard Beeves, 550 acres, Maungatapu district; 247, A. D. Bayfield, 200 acres, Aniseed Valley district, 248, A. W. Tatton and M. Sullivan, 320 acres, Aniseed Valley district; 249, A. T..Jones. 400 acres, Anisesd Valley district. The undermentioned application was postponed: D. Johnston, for renewal of license No. 222, over 515 acres, district of Aniseed Valley. Mineral Lease.—The application of J. A. Harley, for lease of 115 acres 2 roods 28 perches, Aorere district, formerly held under lease by the Pioneer Company, was considered, together with the Warden's'report thereon.. Besolved, That the Warden having reported the ground to be in the midst of the best auriferous ground in the district, the lease to Mr Harley be refused. ; Occupation Licenses.—No 199, application from James Carrie, for a lease of 7 acres, North Beach, Cobden, granted at 20s per annum: > No. 200,; Jane | .Coehrane,' 1000 acres, In»ngahua district, granted at £10 per annuhi; No. 183, James Lowick, 1000 acres, New Creek, Lyell, granted at £10 per annum; Na. 196, the application of D. B. Jelly, 60 acres, Ahaura district, was refused. ; Survey of Boundary Eoads.—Letter from the Chief Surveyor relative to the survey of roads taken by County Councils through freehold and leasehold lands.^was read. XII, Wai-iti, —Letter from District Surveyor read reporting probable cost of acquiring land required for the road, as surveyed, at £210 7s, and that the land to be opened up would be 449 acres Resolved, That the Board cannot recommend the purchase of the road in question.' • ■ • .- . The application of J. M^Murray to purchase the closed road south' of section 141, Wairoa. Resolved, That the question be postponed until it is ascertained whether there is any objection to the land being sold. Leasehold Land Assessed for Sale.—Section 72, square 8, Upper Takaka, John Bogers, 10s per acre. - ■ ; \ Land Assessed for Leaiing.—Apphcaat 2069, J. Stuart, Hamilton Bay, French: Pass district, 15s per acre. Gold Mining Leases.—Eesolved that the Board consent to and approve of the issue by the Governor's Delegate of the undermentioned leases, viz., section 7, block X, Ngakavrau district; section 8, block X, Ngakawau district.
