Collingivood coal mine tramway: Letter • fromMr J. W.Rees, lessee of the Collingwood Wallsend Coal Mine, a petition !|from the Comity Council aud about 90 rate- | payers of the district, and asking the Board to recommend the Government to extendithe iron tramway for a distance of 1 mile 29 chains to the Pakawau Channel, midway between the township of Collingwood and the Ferry House on the Pakawau side of jthe Aorere river, and to construct coal bunkers capable of holding. 300 tons, at a cost of £2500. Resolved, That the Board support the prayer of the pttition from the County Council and the ratepayers of Collingwjood for the construction of the iron tramway to connect Wallsend co«l mines, Collingwood, with the Pakawau Chanel, and strongly recommend the Government to put a sufficient sum on the estimates, for the pur-' pose. Mineral Leases: Resolved, That ;the undermentioned mineral licenses be granted on the usual conditions at a rental of £1 per acre per annum for 21 years : — Roger Walker and George Moore, application No 65, 2 acres, in Darkies Creek, Charleston, sections7s, block 11, Waitakere District; Matthew Wouldes, application No 68 for 2a. 3r. 21p., at Boatmans, section 77, block XI, Reefton District. : Occupation Licenses: Letter from D. W. Jones asking for a reconsideration of A. Livingston's application for a license over : 37 acres. Nelson Creek. Resolved that the Board see no sufficient reason for altering the previous decision: as it is inexpedient to grant .licenses that are likely to interfere with gold mining interest. J. H. Williams, application No .167, for license over 6 acres, Nelson Creek, refused.—W. L. Stewart, application No 142, for License over 200 acres, Bulla Creek, North of Razor Back, Buller District. Granted at £5 per annum on the usual terms. —Rogers and Barker, application No 171, for license over 500 acres, between Reefton and Boatman's, on Flowers' Creek. Postponed, as not sufficiently described to locate on plan. Public Reserves: Application from W. .- for lease of sections 34, 35, 36, 37, and' 38, Waiau! township, considered with District Surveyor's letter No 1771, 1882. Resolved, That it i 3 not advisable to lease the sections at present.^-Application from Joseph Tunnicliff to lease part of public reserve near Pox Hill bridge. Resolved, That it is not desirable to lease any portion of the reserve at present. Timber Licenses: Application No 5, Thomas Lee for the Eureka Gold Mining Company 50 acres adjoining Alta gold mining lease, Inangahua, objected to by the Chairman of County Council and several Gold Mining Companies. Resolved, that the license1 be refused. The applications of James W. Graham for 50 acres west side of Little Onahau, and W. Spittal for 50 acres, Takaka. were postponed, the boundaries being too indefinite. Prospecting License: W. Johnston No 2211, license over 120 acres at Para Para, granted for 12 months.
