WAKEFIELD.
A public meeting was held in tha Choral Hal], Wake Geld, on August 29th, wh*n the attendance was laige, the following resolutions bsinj; agreed to": —
MrD. Price moved, Mr S. Baigont seconded
"That in the opinion of this meeting the Redistribution of Seats Bill now before Parliament is unjust and objeotionable in the extreme, and that it is the dutj of the Nelion people to encourage their members to ooutinue to resist it in erery constitutional way they can, aod that with this object in viaw, this meeting hereby expresses its entire approval of the action taken by them in the determine'! opposition they have offered to the said Bill."
Mr Pain ton mo ved, Mr W. Fan-hall seconded
11 That this mcc ing views with uiarixi tho introduction by Ministers ef the ' cloture'; that in no case could such a course bo justiCed. where tha inhabitants are a law-abiding and peaceful community ; and if the present Government oannot conduct tho business of tho country without resorting to coercive measures for depriving the people of the liverty of debate, it is high time other men took their place."
