The-Cape mail steamer European, which got aßhore off TJthant on the night of December 6, was one of the largest steamers ot the Union Company, of London, and was over 2200 ton*, aud built by the Napiecs, at Glasgow, in 3869. No lives were lost, but the vessel and her cargo were.irrecoverable.
