AN APOLOGY.
To the Editor of the Colonist.
Sin,—Having proceeded to the Gasworks with yourself and Councillor Gray, last evening, after the occurrence of the accident, where my employee was busy rectifying the damage, I was conversing with him, when Mr. Younger came into the place and excitedly said -"There area great many people here who have no right. I direct everybody to retire at once, but the reporter and Mr. JNash." Thereupon Councillor Gray (of the Gas and Waterworks Committee, who declined to exercise his privilege to rtjaain), Mr. Wigzell, Mr. F. Healy, and myself at once proceeded to le«ve the works. Mr. Younger called out. " You may stay Mr. Wigzell." So that " the great many" people who were objected to were only Mr. Healy and myself. I therefore beg to apologise for having gone there, sir, in the company of Councillor Gray and yourself. ~ Yours, &c,
John Geaham.
