LOCAL AND GENERAL NEWS
TWO MORE SURVIVORS OF THE SHIP^ COSPATRICK RECOVERED.
In the London Standard of February Bth, we find the following telegram : —
" Plymouth, 7ch February,
" A Brixham pilot, named Salisbury, reports that he spoke the ship Coldatream, homeward bound from St. Helena, off Torbay on Saturday, the 6th, and was told that two of the crew of the Cospatrick were on board."
The London l ylmes of February Bth, has the following:—"The official enquiry, into the loss of the Cospatrick has been concluded, and the Court will present its report to tha Board of Trade in a few days. A pilot, who landed at Brixham on Saturday, reported that- he had spoken a vessel bound for the Channel having on board two other survivors of the Cospatrick, who had been landed at St. Helena from a vessel which had picked them up at sea."
It would appear strange that no intimation of this report was received by telegram in New Zealand, but it is not likely that papers like the The Times or Standard would easily be hoaxed.
