At the annual meeting of. the City Council held yesterday, Mr J. 3s. Dodson was reelected Mayor of Nelson for the year 1875. The Council hag only been' in existence a few months and consequently there were a great many little matters relating to the functions of a Mayor, with which the gentleman who held that officb had to make himself acquainted,but, although'Mr Dodson had many difficulties to encounter,- he has now succeeded in surmounting them, and is in every way qualified to hold the office. We are'of opinion that the Councillors Ea?e acted wisely in bringing forward no other candidate, and have no doubt that Mr-D, ocJßon will, as he always h s done, uee hisr.best endeavors tj promote 'the interests of the citizens. __ — ... -
