Cheistchuech, Friday. The New Zealand Insurance Company has taken up the balance of the Christchurch Six: per Cent Drainage .Debentures, amounting to £10,600. Produce market: The following quotations are free on board at Lyttelton ; wheat, 5s 3d ; oats, 5s 3d ; barley, 5s Gd ; potatoes, £8 ; flour £13 10s; bran. £6; sharps, £6, haras, uncovered Is |d ; bacon uncovered, lOd. The market is quiet and bare of barley and potatoes. Auckland, Friday. Mr Saunder3 reports sales of South British shares at 52s 6d; Albion, 60s. Buyers: Bank of New Zealand, £17 10s ; National Bank, 68s -Caledonian,£B 7s 6d ; City of London 23s 6d. Sellers : Bright Smile 72e 6d ; National Bank, 70s. ' Arrived: Loch Urr, from London, 96 days from Gravesend, no passengers. The Reform League held a public meeting, at which the Mayor, who was chairman, passed a resolution in favor of abolishing Provincialism throughout the Colony. It is intended to establish branch committees of the society throughout all parts of the Colony. Captain Daldy was tae chief speaker. Mr. Buckland reports: —Fat sheep, 630 were sold at higher rates; dairy cows, £5 to £9 10s; calves, 25s to 425; fat cattle, 35s to 45s per lOOlbs ; sheep, 5d per lb ; ewes and lambs, 24s 6d per couple; store wethers, 10s 6d.
Mr. Binney reports:—Breadstuffa are improving; flour, £L 3 10s to £14<; oats, 5s 3d to 6s 3d ; barley, 5s 6d ; wheat, 63 to 6s 3d; butter, very scarce at Is 3d; cheese, 8d to Is 2d; ham and bacon, lOd to lid; hams, Is Id to Is 2d ; potatoes, £9.
