ENGLISH EDUCATION, for the Lower Department. The English Master will receive a Salary of £300 per annum, and the Masters of the Lower School will receive respectively £300 and £250. The Board of Education will bs prepared to increase these Salaries after a period of suooessful service. Applications for the above Masterships, with Certificates of character and competency, will be received in Auckland until TUESDAX", 7th October, addressed to the Board of Education, Auckland, 1151 PATENT for a Paddle "Wheel for Propelling Steamboats or Vessels. This is to notify, that FRANOIB WORREL , STEVENS, of Auckland, Land Agent, did, on the twenty-ninth day of July, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's Office, in Wellington, a specification or instrument in writing under his hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the nature of the said invention, and in what manner the same is to be performed; and that by reason of suoh deposit the said Invention is protected and secured to him exclusively for the term of six calendar months thence next ensuing.
