TURNING THE FIRST SOD OF THE FOX HILL RAILWAY.

The programme of to-day's proceedings will be as follows. At nine o'clock, the Volunteers and children of the Nelson schools will meet the Freemasons at the Masonic Kail, and on leaving there they will proceed to Waimea-strflet, where they will be joined by the Oddfellows. Passing. on to the Temperance Hall, the Foresters and Fire Brigade will be added to the procession, which will pass in the direction of Trafalgar Square, where conveyances will be in readiness to cor,vey them to Stoke. The members of the Provincial Council will meet at the Church Hill at eleven o'olock. When the whole of the members of the procession have arrived afc the place, they will proceed to thessene of the ceremony in the following order:— Volunteer Band, Volunteers, Cadets, Superintendent and Executive, Ceremony Committee, Inland Communication Committee, Members of the House of. Bepresentatives and Legislative Council, Members of the Provincial Council, Members of Board of Works, Band, Freemasons, Oddfellow*, Foresters, Fire Brigade. Tho ceremony will be performed by his Honor the Superintendent in the absence of Mr. Vogel, whose illness preoludes his atteudance.
