The barque Echo, from London, is now some time overdue, being 136 days out to-day. The barque Jotse Phillips left the harbor on Saturdaj last, for Sydney, in ballast. The s.s. Bangitoto, from Melbourne, is due at Hokitika to-day. The s.s. Wellington left the Manukau, for New Plymouth and South, yesterday afternoon. She will be due here to-morrow morning, and will leave at 3 p.m. same day for Southern Ports. The s.s. Tahakaki, Captain Wheeler, arrived here at 1 p.m on Sunday, from South. She left Dunedin on the 30th April, Lyttelton on the Ist May, Wellington on the 3rd, Picton on the 4th, arriving as above. She left for Taranaki and Manukau yesterday afternoon. The brig G-azeixe left Newcastle, for Nelson, on 23rd April, with a cargo of coals. The barque Chattanooga left Port Chalmers, for Hong Kong, on April 25th, with 170 Chinese as passengers, a quantity of gold, and a cargo of sundries. A sailok, named Ambrose Hayden, was drowned in Lyttelton harbor on April 29th, while in a state of intoxication. The mast of a large ship has drifted ashore at New Brighton beach, Canterbury Province. It was six feot in circumference at the butt, where it had been chopped off, and thirty-three in length. On removing the barnacles it was found that the mast was charred, showing that the ship had been destroyed by fire. Further examination and enquiries will be made to ascertain if it belonged to any vessel lost after leaving Lyttelton.
