Sib, —Your correspondent " Second Fiddle" is evidently, musically speaking, a disappointed man' He has probably been black-balled by the Harmonic, and got rid of by the Philharmonic for over, offioiousness, incompetency, or both. ru ,ry. .
Assuming this to be the case, his remarks at to the statin of the two Sooieties must, I think, be taken not as describing how they really stand, but as the position in which he wishes them to be.
It will, I feel sure, be gratifying to your musical readers to learn that a third society it about to be started in Nelson. Let me express a hope that in this new aggregation your correspondent will be persuaded to play " first" fiddle, when, no doubt, an amount of support will be accorded which, with such valuable claims as it will then possess, the Sooiety will unquestionably have a right to demand! lam, Ac, Conductor.
