COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.

" The Colonist" Office, Nelson, January 17th, 1870. Our harvest, which is nearly all gathered in this Province has been both abundant, and for the most part is now secured in good condition. But little remains uncut, and that little is rapidly being reaped. Reaping machines are increasing, and a little above Richmond, one day last week, two could be seen quickly laying the golden grain in handy heaps for binding into sheaves. The hay harvest has been secured, and is also a good crop, and frequent gentle rains have produced plenty of green fodder for cattle. In town, stocks of all kinds are fairly supplied until the arrival of the John Bunyan, now 104 days out from London. There is no improvement in trade, nor is there likely to be while the Wangapeka dispute continues. Prices in most articles have undergone considerable reductions, as our price list shows : — Wines, Spieits, &c.,in bondPort, per dozen case—£l 13s. to £2 ss. Sherry, ditto—r£l 10s. to £2 2s.
