NOTICE ia hereby given, that we, Ebenezer Gibbons, Thomas Gibbons, and Robert; Pierce Gibbons, all of Onehunga, in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, Timber Merchants, have applied to his Excellency the Governor to grant to us Letters Patent, pursuant to the provisions of The Patents Act, 1860, for the exclusive use of Improvements invented by us, and adapted to a Machine to be applied to the purpose of cleaning New Zealand Flax or PJiormium Tenax, and all other fibrous Plants indigenous to New Zealand, by separating the fibre from the gum and other vegetable matter of the leaf, and rendering the same fit for manufacture into rope, and for all purposes for which hemp is ordinarily used.
