LATEST AUSTRALIAN MARKETS.

Sydney, Saturday, August 14.—Breadstuff's are very firm. Adelaide silk-dressed flour has been placed at £13 15s. to £14. For Adelaide wheat 6s. is asked. Woolpacks, 3s. 7d. to 3s. 9d.; cornsackb, Us. 3d. to 11s. 6d.—-On the 19th August, maize was soiling at Sydney at 3s. 4d.

Hobart TOWN, August 18.—The markets are more active. Wheat is wanted at ss. 6d. Seed oats is wanted at 4s. 6d.

Melbourne, Thursday, August 19.—1n flour there has been an improved demand ; quotations remain unchanged at £13 to £14, according to quality and size of parcel. A parcel of 400 bags Port M'Donnell wheat was sold at 6s. Id. per bushel, and a line of CiihYorniah oats at 4s. 3d. per bushel. Maize in considerable enquiry; 1700 bags, to arrive per Mary Grant, were sold at 4s. 3|d., and between 1500 and 2000 bags on the spot, at 4s. 4d. and 43. 4£d. per bushel. For 1000 bushels malt 9s. 6d. per bushel was accepted. Bavarian hops were placed at Is. 7d. per ft. Mauritius sugars are now quoted £2 per ton higher. Kerosene continies ia strong demand; a line of Comet brand has been placed at Is. 10£ d. while for Devoe's Ib. 10|d., and for Downer's 2s. OJd. have been refused. Fine brandies, both in bulk and case, continue in demand. A parcel of 100 qr-casks Otard's pale brandy changed hands at full rates, and Hennessy's case brandy at 265. 9d.

Adelaide, August 18. —The corn market is very firm at 4s. IOJd. to 4s. lid. for wheat. Bran is :in good demand at ll£d.; holders ask Is.

Failure.—By a telegram in the Melbourne Argus of August 20th, we learn from Sydney that Messrs. Kohn and Co. have failed. Liabilities, £41,000; assets, £30,000; deficiency, £11,000.
