STOKE
The election of four members of Stoke Education Committee took place in the Schoolroom, on Saturday last, Mr. H. D. Williams occupying the chair. The following nominations were made. — Mr. John Mokeison, proposed by Mr Robottom, and seconded by Mr. Cliing. Mr. Rout, proposed by Mr. H. Parker, seconded by Mr, Morrison. Mr. KoBOTTOir, proposed by Mr. W. Parker, and seconded hy Mr. Hicks Purker. Mr. H. Parker, proposed by Mr. Eobottom, and seconded by Mr. Cre3swell. Mr A. Habley, proposed by Mr. W. Parker, and seconded by Mr. Doidge. Mr. Cowan, proposed by Mr. Morrison, and seconded by Mr. H. Parker. Mr. W. Parker, proposed by Mr. Cresswell, and seconded by Mr. Ching. Mr. Teas, proposed by Mr. A. Harley, seconded by Mr. H. Parker. Mr. Gardiner, proposed by Mr Ching, and seconded by Mr. Doidge. Mr. Huoh Parker, proposed by Mr. A. Harley, .and seconded by Mr. Cresswell. The ballot was then taken with the following result: Mr. Rout 12 Mr. Morrison 11 Mr. A. Harley 7 Mr. Cowan 7 Mr. H. Parker 6 Mr. Eobottoni 5 Mr. Gardiner 4 Mr. W. Parker 3 Mr. Tear 3 Mr. Hugh Parker 2 The first four were declared duly elected. After a vote of thanks to the chairman the meeting separated.
