MR. STEVENS' RAILWAY PROSPECTUS.
Agreeably to a suggestion which we made to Mr. Stevens, we are enabled to print today that gentleman's proposed Prospectus of the Nelson, Westport, and Cobden Rail, way; which we are bound to acknowledge is a document of an exhaustive nature, and one well caculated to make a very favorable impression in the.London Money Market. It is to be regretted that, instead of writing controversial letters, and, by these and amis, taken reticence on the subject, incurring hostile criticism, Mr. Stevens did not lona ago publish his Prospectus. It exhibits careful research, and au acquaintance with the characteristics and statistics of the Pro. vince, put together in an attractive shape, for which at one time we questioned Mr, Stevens' capacity. The whole scheme is now before the public; and we presume the Provincial Government will, this week, submit to the Council the terms of the proposed Bill, which it is intended shall be laid before the Assembly.
