THE SANITARY COMMISSION.

Sib,—lt is stated in the Report of the Nelson Sanitary Commission that no answer had then been received from Mr. S. E. Fitzgibbon, Town Clerk of Melbourne, to the inquiries addressed to him by the Commissioner. Since that report was written Mr. Fitzgibbon has sent to the Commissioner a very full and interesting account of recent practice and legislation on sanitary matters in Victoria. As you have published in your columns—l am glad to see—the Report of the Nelson Sanitary Commission, I shall be much obliged to you if will give the same publicity to this letter. I am, Sir, Your most obedient servant, C. lluntek Brown, Hon. Sec. Nelson, July 11, 1867.
