ORIGINAL POETRY.
A MOTHER'S LOVE.
A TWAIMONTH has gane bye this day Sin' our wee Willie deed, Robin, An' his warm heart was changed to clay, But frae its troubles freed, Robin. He suffer'd lanp, the puir wee man, Yet didna sair complain, Robin, But patient bore affliction's han', Till God made him his am, Robin. Oh! could we bear as Willie bore, — As patiently as he, Robin ; !Nhp sinfu' heart could wish for more When lying down to dee, Robin. Yet vrae we were the bairn to tyne, An' every hour, I'm sure, Robin, He hiis been in my thoebts sinsyne, Wi' a' he did endure, Rabin. And should we live for fifty year,— Gif it be Heaven's will, Robin, He aye -will be our baby dear, — Our am wee Willie still, Robin. Our hearts tae him maun ever cling, E'en were they made o' aim, Robin, He'll aye, aye be a sweet wee thing, A dear dear baby bairn, Robin. We thocht that God had ta'en our a', When he was frae 119, tu'en, Robin, But. He but took the bairn awa' To keep him aye a wean, Robin. A lored wee wean, ane of the blest Through never-ending years, Robin ; — I hope beside my bairn to rest, But—l maun dry my tears, Robin. W. Hogg. Nelson, July 5.
