Brisbane, Oct. 28,

Deabth at the Diggings.—The steamer Queensland brings news from the Peak Downs diggings to the 13th instant. The diggers were suffering very much from want of water, and provisions being almost at famine prices.

The first sale of Crown lands has been held at Pioneer River, and the first municipal election took place at Bowen, on the 16th.

The Samson (s.), returned to Rockhampton on the 21st from the Burdekin River, "which is reported to be navigable for some distance for vessels drawing eight feet. Mr. Hall, the editor of the Queensland Times, who lately went out on a shooting excursion, is missing. He is supposed to have been lost in the bush.
