POLICE COURT. SATURDAY JULY 11TH, 1863.

(Before J. Poynteb, Esq., Resident Magistrate.) Elizabeth Good was brought up on two charges of theft, the first was that of stealing from the premises of Eobt. Carter, butcher, Waimea-street, a piece of beef and a shoulder of mutton, weighing together about 231b5., of the value of 135.; and also with stealing two loaves of bread from the shop of Charles King, baker, in Bridge-street. - " In the case of the bread-stealing the baker identified his loaves, which he had missed, and had along with two constables gone to the woman's house,, and found the bread, A girl deposed that Bhe saw prisoner runnnig from the shop something 'under ' her shawl. The woman declared she sent her little girl for the bread, and denied that she was in the shop - ' of the baker at all. In regard to the theft of the meat, the butcher identified his property waich the police found in * *' in the woman's house when searching for the loaves.
