The Aberdeen clipper ship Oliver Cromwell arrived in Port Chalmers at 8 p.m. on Monday, 7th April. .She left Gravesend on the 23rd December, and had a fine run down Channel, which she cleared on the 27th ; crossed the equator on tho 26th January, passed the meridian of the Cape 22nd February, aud sighted the Snares on the 2nd instant. She experienced very heavy weather between the Cape and this coast, carrying away jibboom, part of bulwarks and skylight. In addition to a largo general cargo, she has brought 84 puro Merino sheep, in fine condition, having lost only two the whole passage ; she lias also a number of fancy fowls, comprising Spanish, Dorking, golden spangled, and game birds. They seem none the worse of the heavy weather the ship has encountered. No vessels were spoken on the passage.— Otago Colonist. The emigrant ship Victoria, Captain Forss, arrived in Lyttelton on Sunday morning, 6th instant, after a rather protracted passage of 109 days from the Downs. She lands her passengers in good health, who appear to be above the average stamp of immigrants. The Victoria made a bad start, meeting with contrary winds in the Channel, which caused her to be over 40 days before crosssng the line. She was afterwards detained by putting into Pernambuco for fresh water, the water in the casks on board being: unfit for uso. She brings 139 adult passengers.— LytteUon Times.
