Correspondence.
To the Editor of the Colonist. Sir—As there is a deal of misunderstanding with regard to bets made on the last match between Wakatu and Wakefield, I enclose you the laws of the Marylebone Cricket Club, under the head of ' Bets,' for the information of those concerned. 1. Nobftiipori :.v,y match.is payable unless it be p.'ayai out or given up. 2. If the runs of one player be betted against those of another, the bet depends on the first innings, unless otherwise specified.
3. If the bet bo made 6n both innings, and one party beat the other in one innings, the runs of the first innings shall determine it. 4. If the other party go in a second time, then the bet must be determined by the number in the score. Yours, '&(!., CRICKET.
