TIMARU RACES.
This annual meeting took place on Wednesday, .the 7th instant, about 6 miles from Timaru. The Stewards were Messrs. Harris, Thomson, Knight, Brayshavv; and Mr. George Rhodes acted as Judge. The following were the events:—

The sporting community oi Timaru have determined to abandon for the future the absurd restrictions against horses trained or entered for Christchurch races, which this year prevented many visitors, both men and horses, from attending the meeting.-— Lyttelton Times.
