A proclamation has been issued, calling the Provincial Council together on Tuesday, the 30th August. Then it will appear whether the gentlemen under "Mr. Wakefield's lead will act like rational beings, or occasion another dead-lock by refusing to pass the Appropriation Act. Iv that case there will be another application for a dissolution, which will be granted.— Chronicle, July 7* Mr. Anderson, the Provincial Engineer, is at present in Wanganui, superintending the construction of the river' bridge; which we understand will be lowered about six feet, and be approached from Victoria Avenue by an inclined plane.— lbid.
