FOUR DAYS LATER FROM ENGLAND.
(From the Sydftiy ITerdd, Novtmhr 3.) The following telegram, from our Melbourne Correspondent, puts us in possession of European intelligence four days' later than brought by the Emeu: —
Tuesday, November, 2., 3 p.m. The White Star, from Liverpool, 20th August, arrived at the Heads this morning. The Queen and Prince Albert were still at Potsdam on a visit fo their daughter. Great respect had been shown them en route. The Times of 20th August quotes Consols at 9o|. An advance of £ had taken place since the departure of the mail for Australia.
The Atlantic telegraph was not yet in working order. Only parts of messages had been sent through. Wool sales continue to go off-well. The attendance of buyers is large, and the biddings spirited. Prices reported by the last mail sustained. The tallow market was flat.
