MARRIED
On Monday, February Bth, at the Church of England, by the Rev. Archdeacon Paul, assisted by W. Jenkins, Esq., Maori interpreter, Matenga, a young chief fpom the North Island, to Huria (Julia), eldest daughter of Wiremu Katena (Te Manu), Chief of Wakapuaka. Immediately after the ceremony the bride and bridegroom proceeded to Happy Valley, where a sumptuous feast was provided, consisting of a fat bullock, pigs, potatoes, &c, &c. Invitations were sent to and accepted by several of the principal inhabitants of Nelson, to be present at the feast.
