We expect shortly to hear from Sydney that the purchase of the Planet, paddle steamer, for our Local Steam Company, has' been completed. We have seen a letter from Sydney, stating that she is well up to the work expected of her; she will carry * 30 tons under hatches, besides a large deck load in fine weather; her departure wouldtake place as soon as she could be got jeady for sea The Liverpool and London Fire Insurance Company propose to send down to their agents in this province, Messrs. Cookspn, Bowler, & Co., a fire engine, with all the necessary appurtenances. There are two powerful hand engines here already.— Times, November .2l.
