Commercial Report.
Colonist Office, Thursday Evening. Trade is veiy dull in town. Until the present bad weather takes \ip and becomes more settled it cannot be expected that any improvement will take place. The market is still very much overstocked with most descriptions of goods. There are^ considerable quantities daily expected from England. " The present appearance of our markets makes what few buyers there are very cautious. We have heard of no particular instances of goods being sacrificed yet; but without shipments from Australia are suspended for a while, we fear great losses will be sustained. Considerable additions to our population have been made within the last few weeks. Many have returned without even trying- the Diggings; others remain. Great results may be anticipated aB soon as fine weather sets in. Boots and Shoes —Market full. ■Drapery Goods. —Ditto glutted. Slops. —Ditto ditto.
